Dr. Frank Piro

Dr. Frank Piro began his Plastic Surgery practice on the Peninsula in 1991. He is a native of the Bay Area graduating from the University of Santa Clara in 1979. His journey of practicing medicine began at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He graduated in 1984 and earned membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Society.

Dr. Piro returned to the Bay Area completing his General Surgery training at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco. In 1988 he began his advanced training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco. His comprehensive training in plastic surgery included extensive experience in cosmetic surgery, reconstructive surgery, surgery of the hand and microsurgical reconstruction.

Dr. Piro is proud to be a certified member of the American Board of Plastic Surgery, a prestigious affiliation which signifies that a plastic surgeon has completed training and demonstrates the skills and knowledge necessary to provide safe and excellent care. He is also a member of the esteemed American Society of Plastic Surgeons, an organization comprised of the leading surgeons in the field of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Piro is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, a member of the California Plastic Surgery Society and a member of the California Medical Society.

Since 1991, Dr. Piro has developed a distinguished Plastic Surgery practice in the Bay Area community with offices located in San Mateo and Daly City. His practice offers extensive experience in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He is well known in the Bay Area for his commitment to patient safety and for consistent high quality results. Dr. Piro performs surgery at Mills- Peninsula Hospitals located in San Mateo and Burlingame, Seton Hospital in Daly City and Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City. Dr. Piro also provides cosmetic surgery in his office surgery center located in his San Mateo office. His office based surgical suite is accredited by the California State Board providing a safe and private atmosphere for cosmetic surgery. He is a staff Plastic Surgeon associated with the Mills-Peninsula Hospital Women’s Health Center involved with reconstruction after breast cancer treatment.

Dr. Piro provides services in all areas of cosmetic surgery. His practice focuses on the art of Cosmetic Surgery to the face, breast and body, providing patients with the latest techniques for surgical enhancement. He has a special interest in facial and eyelid surgery. He performs breast enlargement using both saline and silicone implants. Dr. Piro has extensive experience in body contouring using the most current techniques in ultrasonic and traditional liposuction, as well as surgical enhancement of the abdomen performing a "tummy tuck" procedure.

Additionally, Dr. Piro is actively involved in the care of patients who have undergone massive weight loss, whether by diet and exercise alone, or with the additional bariatric surgery. The emphasis is on a compassionate consultation and evaluation in preparation for surgery. The patient and doctor decide on the individualized operative sequence for staged body contouring procedures.
